Text Box: A Helical Pier Instant Foundation System was used to support a pipeline in Goosebay, Labrador. The pipeline was located over very poor sandy soil in a corrosive environment. The helical piers were encased with a 6" PVC pipe and micro-sil grout to provide additional lateral support and extra corrosion protection. The foundation system was completely modular and extensions were added until the desired torques were achieved, thus ensuring their capacities and the piers were terminated with a new construction bracket which bolted directly to the beams supporting the pipeline. The helical piers proved to be ideally suited providing a fast, deep, instant foundation system that achieved the loads required, created no spoils, required no excavation and allowed immediate construction of the pipeline.
