Text Box: The load carrying capabilities of a Helical Pier can be verified by carrying out a full scale compression test in accordance with ASTM standards.

This test was carried out on a 1-3/4" RCS (Round Corner Square Shaft) Helical Pier with a 8", 10", 12" helix configuration which was encased in a 4" diameter grout column for lateral stability and embedded 17'-0" into clay.

The Helical Pier was load tested up to 70 kips and monitored for settlement with a mechanical strain gauge and the results plotted on a graph depicting its load carrying capabilities.
